Introduction

We have put together some practical tips and tricks to help you make the most of the benefits.

Note: The approval of the tax return is carried out via a specific task in MyDATEV Kommunikation/Communication. Once this task has been created, the tax return can be reviewed and approved. If any questions arise, they can be clarified directly within the task before it is completed.

To access MyDATEV Kommunikation/Communication, please click on “MyDATEV Kommunikation”/”Communication” in the MyDATEV Portal applications.



Documents

As soon as the application is opened, you land directly in the column “Documents”.



Here you will find an overview of all uploaded documents.


Notice: Please do not upload any documents in this area. Documents should only be uploaded as part of a conversation or task. Files that are stored here without reference to a task or communication cannot currently be considered.


Conversations

To access the conversations, simply click on “Conversations” above.



All previous and current conversations can be viewed here. This function is used to clarify queries and exchange relevant information for the income tax return.


  • Receive and reply to messages directly

    After receiving a message, you can reply directly here.



  • Start a new conversation

    If you have any questions or want to share information with us, you can start a new conversation. Simply click on “Start new conversation”.



    Notice: Please always choose an appropriate topic and a descriptive title (for example: home office, handyman services or letting a sample street) to speed up processing.



  • Upload documents

    A document can be uploaded both in a new conversation and in a reply by clicking on the corresponding icon.




Tasks

To access the tasks, simply click on the “Tasks” tab at the top.



Here you can view all tasks. This function is used to request missing information or documents.
In addition, the approval of the tax return is carried out via a specific task.


Note: Once a task has been completed, it cannot be undone. If a task was completed by mistake, you can still send a message via the conversation function. In that case, please provide the missing information or documents, or notify us so that a new task can be created.


Approval of Tax Returns
  • Approve tax returns and financial statements In MyDATEV Kommunikation/Communication – Tasks, you’ll find the returns with all attachments. There, the returns can be approved or rejected.


  • If you have questions about the return, simply start a conversation with us. This can be done directly from within the task.


    Note: If necessary, approval can also be delegated to another authorized person with DATEV access.

  • We set the task’s due date to one month before the legal submission deadline, or if we receive an early request, one month before the deadline stated in the letter.

  • If you don’t want to approve the return right away, you can set a reminder for any date of your choice.



Processing and Completing Tasks

Required documents can be uploaded directly within the task. Additionally, you can write a message – it will automatically appear in the conversations – in case there are any follow-up questions.




Filter Tasks

To improve clarity, tasks can be filtered by processing status, topic, and responsibility.
